Vogue Knitting Recap
It was a perfect day in Pasadena last weekend. The weather couldn't have been better. We were at the Convention Center where the architecture is 100% Pasadena. The convention center was full of fiber goodness and knitting friends I have not seen since I moved 3 years ago along with the knitting friends I came with. Heaven !!
I wasn't very good at taking pictures. I was having too much fun talking and look and petting fiber. But here are a few.
The other amazing thing that happened is that I did not buy any yarn!! What?? I tried. I was looking for yarn for the patterns I wanted to make. I was looking at samples. I found lovely samples and thought of making them. But, I think my stash actually got in my way. I have been knitting from my stash all year and I just couldn't buy more yarn. That is a first people.
But I did not go away empty handed. I got Pam Powers new book "Knitted Scarves". I have been a fan of her patterns for a while now and was so happy to see her wonderful booth and beautiful book.
Then we met Cecelia Campochiaro, who is a genius. She has a new book called "Sequence Knitting" which is all about knitting that could be complicated charted knitting patterns. But she has figured out a way of using simple repeated sequences to accomplish the same thing. I love this kind of nerdy stuff. This book is HUGE! But all that detail boils down to simple knitting that you take with you anywhere and a great platform to try out color combinations. My girlfriend actually bought this book for me as a birthday present (not till Sept.). Wow, that is an amazing present.
The last acquisition was a yarn bowl. I have wanted on for a few years so why not?
All and all a perfect day and I have a big smile on my face!
